She Made It, We Love It!

In a world of mass-produced fast fashion trends, these local fashion power players are carving out spaces for enduring style. From the whimsical to the minimalist, their collections celebrate tradition, innovation and functionality, proving that fashion made by women, for women, can be bold, beautiful and built to last.

The playful romantic

There are no rules when it comes to fashion, and Kittie Yiyi embodies this perfectly through her collections. Bold, chaotic and utterly joyful, the brand redefines femininity with a whimsical twist. Asymmetrical cuts, delicate lace, soft ruffles, flouncy skirts and quilted statement pieces blend unpredictably yet flawlessly in her collections. Each design feels personal, artistic and unapologetically fun – making every Kittie Yiyi piece a conversation starter and a keepsake.

Everyday comfort

Whimsigirl strikes the perfect balance between practical wear and effortless elegance. Known for modern Raya ensembles and versatile daily pieces, the brand merges feminine charm with relaxed silhouettes, soft textures, and oversized cuts. Every garment is designed to allow women to move freely while remaining stylish – an ode to everyday ease.

Heritage reimagined

Gerson Batik started out as a humble home tailoring business run by three sisters in Klang before four of their daughters decided to digitalise it 30 years later. The brand gives traditional Malaysian batik a contemporary twist, transforming heritage textiles into modern, ready-to-wear pieces. With clean cuts and versatile designs, Gerson makes batik feel fresh, accessible, and stylish beyond festive occasions.

Minimalism, thoughtfully made

“Hanya” means “only” in Malay – a fitting name for a label that champions exclusivity, quality and intentionality. Designed by women, for women, Hanya offers collections with flowy silhouettes, modern festive baju kurung, and comfortable sets that ooze elegance. Every piece reflects thoughtfulness in design and pricing, allowing women to invest in style without overextending.

Comfort-first fashion

Christy Ng started with RM10,000 and a mission: to create shoes that women could truly live in. After struggling with painful and poorly made footwear herself, Christy set out to design stylish vegan-leather shoes and bags without compromising comfort or quality. What started at flea markets has grown into a celebrated fashion house with 16 local stores, five in Indonesia, and one in the Philippines.
