Women Wish List Takeover

There’s something undeniably powerful about beauty brands created by women for women. From the inclusive Fenty Beauty to the legendary Pat McGrath Labs and the skilled Anastasia Beverly Hills, here are some of our favourite female-founded brands redefining beauty on their own terms.

By mama Rihanna

When Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty, it broke the internet and industry norms with its 40-shade foundation range that set a whole new bar for inclusivity. Her skincare brand, Fenty Skin, combines functional skincare with earth-conscious, reusable packaging that’s redefining the industry. A must-try from Fenty Beauty is the famed Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, now in 52 shades, while our personal favourite from Fenty Skin is the Total Cleans'r – a makeup remover and cleanser in one.

Effortless hair made simple

Created by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, Ouai captures the essence of undone, everyday glamour. Designed to simplify routines without compromising results, the brand pairs minimalist aesthetics with salon-level performance. Its cult favourite Detox Shampoo blends apple cider vinegars and keratin to deeply cleanse while restoring balance – perfect for those who want their haircare to feel as effortless as it looks.

The mother of makeup

Revered as one of the most influential makeup artists of her generation, Pat McGrath transformed her visionary aesthetic into a beauty empire that blurs the line between makeup and art. Pat McGrath Labs is renowned for highly pigmented eyeshadows, legendary lipsticks, and iconic looks that turn heads on the runway. The LiquiLUST: Legendary Wear Lipstick in Elson 4 – famously worn by Taylor Swift throughout The Eras Tour – is a testament to the brand’s enduring cultural influence.

Brows on fleek

Little did Anastasia Soare know that the Golden Ratio Eyebrow Shaping Method she developed in 1990 would start a modern brow revolution, eventually growing into one of the most recognisable beauty brands in the world. Anastasia Beverly Hills redefined how brows shape the face, and the brand today has an entire suite of cult-favourite brow products, eyeshadow palettes, and lip kits, all designed with precision and inclusivity in mind. One of our favourite products from ABH is the Brow Freeze, an extreme-hold styling wax that creates the perfect feathered effect and keeps it in place all day long.

Clean for all

Founded by Kiana Cabell and Gigi Goldman, Kopari brings a fresh, feel-good approach to clean beauty. Rooted in the nourishing properties of coconut oil, its formulations are free from sulfates, parabens and phthalates, prioritising both performance and peace of mind. The Moisture Whipped Ceramide Cream stands out as a skin barrier essential, celebrated for its gentle yet deeply-hydrating formula.

Hot off the press

From Penang to the boardrooms of Kuala Lumpur, Datin Zaharah Abdul Muttalib has built a banking career rooted in integrity, tenacity, and purpose. As head of Bank Islam’s Wealth Management Division, she’s combined financial expertise with a vision for empowerment – championing ethical investing, client-centred service, and the rise of women leaders in finance.

In our Sept/Oct 2025 issue, MillionaireAsia traces her journey from a determined young banker taking her first bold steps into the capital to a trailblazer shaping Malaysia’s financial landscape.

We also continue our mission to spotlight the women shaping Southeast Asia’s future – with stories, programmes, and partnerships designed to empower, inspire, and ignite change.
